The Interdisciplinary Program in Neuroscience at Bar Ilan University was established in 1998. This is the oldest neuroscience program in Israel, and the only one authorized by the Israeli Council of Higher Education to grant a BSc degree in neuroscience.

The Interdisciplinary Program in Neuroscience has been established with prospect of addressing the rising need in competent neuroscientists engaged in different fields of brain research.

The students enrolled in the Interdisciplinary Program in Neuroscience acquire solid background in various academic fields, such as life sciences, behavioral sciences, linguistics, computer science, physics, chemistry, mathematics and philosophy. During second and third academic years students specialize and gain expertise in their field of choice.

The training program allows students to choose one of the two available tracks: a single-major track with specialization in either life sciences or behavioral sciences, or a double-major track in which students are required to choose one of the following combinations: neuroscience & computer science, neuroscience & physics or neuroscience& linguistics.

Successful graduates of the interdisciplinary Program in neuroscience may proceed to graduate studies in brain research, psychology, neuroscience or various programs in life sciences.
